At Kent Skin & Laser Clinic, our consultant dermatologist-led team offers medical-grade Dermalux Tri-Wave MD LED therapy, delivered by experienced therapists. Based in Canterbury, we welcome patients from across Kent, including Whitstable, Herne Bay, Faversham, Ashford, Folkestone, Dover, Deal and the surrounding areas.
What is Dermalux LED Light Therapy?
The Dermalux Tri-Wave MD is a medical-grade LED device that can deliver multiple wavelengths of light at once. These wavelengths support the skin’s natural repair processes and are used in the management of inflammatory skin conditions such as acne, rosacea, psoriasis and eczema, as well as to calm redness and support overall skin health.
LED therapy may be a good option if you have:
- An inflammatory skin condition such as acne, rosacea, psoriasis and eczema
- General redness or sensitivity you would like to calm
- A recent treatment, such as a peel, and want to support recovery
- Fine lines and skin laxity
- Pigmentation and sun damage
LED therapy is not a replacement for medical care. If you have a skin condition that has not been diagnosed, our dermatology team can assess it first.
How We Use LED Light Therapy
Treatment can be booked in the way that suits your skin and your goals.
Standalone Sessions
A single session is £50. You relax while the device delivers light to the treatment area, which is a comfortable, restful appointment for people who want to support their skin health.
As an Add-On
LED therapy can be added to other treatments, such as chemical peels or micro-needling, for £40. It is often used to help calm the skin and support the healing process after those procedures. You may also see it recommended alongside our acne treatment and rosacea treatment.
Courses of Sessions
For ongoing, cumulative benefit, a course of 6 sessions is £280 and a course of 10 sessions is £450. Your therapist will suggest how many sessions suit your goal, and individual results vary.

Based in Canterbury, we welcome patients from across Kent, including Whitstable, Herne Bay, Faversham, Ashford, Folkestone, Dover, Deal and the surrounding areas.
What Happens at the Appointment?
Before your first session, we will:
- Discuss your skin concern and goals
- Review your medical history and any medication
- Confirm that LED therapy is suitable for you, alone or alongside another treatment
- Agree how many sessions to plan
During treatment, you relax while the LED device delivers light therapy to the treatment area for around 20 minutes. Appointments take 20 to 30 minutes in total. Most patients find the treatment relaxing, and there is minimal downtime, with no restriction on returning to normal activities straight away. Because the benefit builds gradually, a course of sessions is often recommended for ongoing improvement.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does LED light therapy do?
Specific wavelengths of light are used to support the skin’s natural repair processes, helping to calm inflammation, support healing and improve overall skin health. It is often used alongside other treatments rather than instead of them.
Is LED therapy suitable for sensitive skin?
It is generally well tolerated, including on sensitive or reactive skin, and is often used to help calm inflammatory conditions including eczema and psoriasis. Please tell us about any medication or conditions that affect how your skin reacts to light, so we can check suitability.
Can LED therapy be combined with other treatments?
Yes. It is commonly added to treatments such as peels or micro-needling to help calm the skin and support the healing process. The add-on price is £40.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your goal. A course of 6 sessions (£280) or 10 sessions (£450) is available at a reduced rate for patients wanting ongoing, cumulative improvement. Your therapist will advise what is suitable for you.
Is there any downtime after LED therapy?
Downtime is minimal, and most patients return to normal activities straight away. Your therapist will explain any aftercare that applies if it is combined with another treatment.
Can LED therapy help acne or rosacea?
It is used in the management of inflammatory skin conditions, including acne and rosacea, usually as part of a wider plan. A medical assessment helps us confirm the diagnosis and recommend the right combination of treatments.
